If we have severe weather - snow, extremely low temperatures, flood, heating problems etc. we will always try and stay open providing it is safe and sensible to do so and enough staff can get into work by a reasonable time. (NB Some staff come from quite a distance!) We will use Parentmail, the school website and Twitter*, to announce closures and re openings. The information will also be on the Essex County Council school closures website (https://www.essex.gov.uk/Education-Schools/Schools/Dates/Pages/Emergency-School-Closures.aspx).

We would also ask all parents and carers to remind their children that if the school has to close suddenly, or at any time there is no one to meet them, they must not go home alone from the playground but come into school where we will make arrangements for them.
