Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. ‘Children’ includes everyone under the age of 18. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.

Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE September 2025)

Our children’s safety and welfare is our priority. We have a variety of policies and procedures in school to help us keep children safe. These policies and procedures follow locally agreed guidelines laid down by the Essex Safeguarding Children Board (ESCB).

In school we have trained designated safeguarding officers, they are:-

  • Mrs Hayes - Headteacher
  • Mrs Barber - Deputy Headteacher
  • Mrs Johns - Assistant Headteacher

Our school safeguarding Governor is Mrs J. Ward
