Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Thank you to all those Parents and Carers who took the time to respond to the recent consultation on the possible changing of the school week and for the many comments received. We were delighted to have over 300 responses from parents and carers many with useful comments and views.
Please be assured we have read and are considering all of your comments and do take all your views seriously.
Given the overwhelming response to the consultation letter the Governors and Senior Leadership Team wish to take some additional time to consider the matter and hope to be in a position to make a further announcement shortly.
The School Council have decided that to support Sport Relief they will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 23rd March. For a donation of your choice, children can come into school wearing ‘sporty clothing’ (this could include a sports kit, tracksuit or even your own PE kit!).
There will also be a special competition for children to enter which involves designing a new PE kit for the school. Templates were emailed home via ParentMail but paper copies of the template are available from the school office. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize for each Key Stage and entries should be handed in by 9.00am on Friday 23rd March. During the afternoon the children will take part in special sport relief activities.
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 2nd March. Children are asked to come dressed as their favourite book character and bring in a copy of their favourite book. Please note that Year 5 children will not be taking part as they will be at Appleton School for their taster day. There will be a book sale run by the PTA and the School Council on Thursday 1st March during school hours and straight after school. Please donate clean good quality books into class from Monday 26th February. Proceeds from the sale will be used to buy new books for the school, support the PTA and donate to the School Council’s chosen charities (St. John’s Ambulance and Carer’s Choice).

Don't forget that Wednesday is our last day at school and also our Christmas Party day.
On our last day of term, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children will be having their Christmas parties. The children will be allowed to come into school in non-uniform. Please note EYFS children have already had their party.
It would be appreciated if you could send in ONE packet of party food that can be shared out and eaten at the party. For example, ONE box of cakes, OR ONE packet of biscuits OR ONE tube of Pringles. After the party any food that is not eaten will be thrown away, so please don’t send in too much! Please do not send in anything until the morning of 20th December and note we cannot accept anything that will need refrigerating. We would appreciate it if you did not send in any food that contains nuts or traces of nuts which could trigger off any allergies. You do not need to send in any drinks, as the school will provide this. In addition to the party, your child will be able to bring a game to school to share with friends and/or a dvd. Please ensure the game is in a named carrier bag. Also please do not allow the children to bring anything of sentimental or monetary value as they will be responsible for looking after it. (Please note, no computer games)
